Main body: According to electronic media in Priština, Beqiri said that Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdi and foreign policy chief Skender Hyseni would be lobbying states at the General Assembly that have not so far recognized the province’s unilateral independence declaration.

Beqiri said that Sejdiu would be meeting with presidents, prime ministers and other senior representatives of these states in the margins of the GA.

Besides lobbying for independence, the primary aim of these meetings will be enhancing cooperation with states that have already recognized Kosovo.

A spokeswoman for Priština's foreign affairs bureau, Albana Beqiri, said they had been drawing up a schedule of meetings for Kosovo Albanian leaders in New York for the last three months.

She added that Priština had received confirmations of these meetings from representatives of around ten UN member states.
