Tatarstan: International Center in Astana to preserve Turkish Cultural Monuments

The regular 21st sitting of the permanent council of the ministers of culture of the Turkic speaking countries - TURKSOY is underway in Astana, AzerTAj reports.

In the sitting, the ministers of culture, taking into account the modern technologies, noted the necessity of preparation of special program for preservation of monuments. They also have discussed TURKSOY’s participation in festivities of the 1000th anniversary of the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan, in August 2005.

Director general of TURKSOY, minister of culture of Azerbaijan Polad Bulbuloglu has said: “We must attentively approach preservation of our cultural heritage. There are too many invaluable and historically significant monuments in the territory of the Turkic world. Unfortunately, a lot of monuments are on the verge of destruction”.
