Dutch vexillology group visits the UNPO
Sunday, 01 December 2002

On October 5th a group of people with a special interest came to the UNPO. Their interest lie in the field of Vexillology; the study of flags. The members of the UNPO, as a clear sign of their identity, all have their own unique flag representing their history and culture. Several UNPO members (Cabinda, Chechnya and the Albanians in Kosova) were present to give explanation on the meaning of their flag and its design. As a symbol of identity the flags often reflect the history and continuity of the nation. This ‘workshop’ was excellently hosted by David Broekman who, with his experience as a teacher, made this day an enjoyable and instructive one. The designer of the UNPO flag, Mr Qenan Sheji, made his contribution to the event by elaborating on the genesis of the UNPO flag.
