Literacy programmes in Cabinda point to some positive results.
Below is an article published by the Angola Press Agency : At least 3,816 people were taught to read and write in Angola's northern Cabinda province since September 2007. The information was supplied to Angop Monday in Cabinda city by the head of the Literacy Programme of the National Department of Education, Culture, Science and Technology, Tiago Brá Nguvulo. Tiago Nguvulo explained that the literacy programmes that had been suspended in 2003 restarted in 2005 with a seminar for teachers who started activity in 2007. According to the source, there are currently in the province 300 literacy teachers who cover all localities of Cabinda city. Lessons are held in chapels of the various religious denominations, especially the Catholic and Evangelic. |
