The largest mosque in Europe will be inaugurated in October in Chechnya.
Below is an article published by Press TV: According to the Russian Novosty official news agency, the Chechnyan President Ramzan Kadyrov will inaugurate the mosque on 17 October 2008. The construction project started over three years ago and the mosque is to be named after the president's father, Ahmad Kadyrov. "The largest mosque in Europe… will by inaugurated on the first day of the International Peacemakers' Conference, titled 'Islam - Religion of Peace and Progress,'" said the grand mufti of Chechnya, Sultan Mirzayev. The mosque, which will be able to accommodate over 10,000 worshipers is surrounded by Chechnya's Islamic administration, a religious school, an Islamic university, a hotel and a religious library.
