Angolan officials travel to Cabinda's capital to review the workings of the ‘Special Status’ established in October 2007.
Below is an article published by Angola Press:
The Special Status attributed to the northern Cabinda province is being analysed Thursday [13 March 2008] in the provincial capital city, under the observation of the Territory Administration Ministry and the local authorities.
For this purpose, the Angola’s vice-minister of Territory Administration, Mota Liz, who is leading the delegation of his sector, left Luanda this morning [13 March 2008] for that locality.
The region’s Special Status, which results in sequence of the achievement of peace and national reconciliation in that region of the Angolan territory, was approved on 26 October 2007 by the National Assembly (Parliament).
It establishes the general bases of organisation, attributions, functioning and regulation of the power of the Local State Administration, in that northern zone.
The document also aims at guaranteeing the province’s development foreseeing its most suitable integration into the national space, in light of the strengthening of fraternity and solidarity ties amongst all regions of the country.
The delegation is expected to return to Luanda this Thursday [13 March 2008]. |
