Monday, 18 June 2007

The Fifth Session of the United Nations' Human Rights Council is held in Geneva from 11 – 18 June 2007. Last week-end as well as last Monday and Tuesday [16-19 June 2007] a series of important issues with relevance to UNPO Members were discussed. In the Monitor prepared by our team you will find stories on the following subjects:

  • President called for extra meeting last Sunday
  • The voice of our planet is the voice of our people
  • HRC not finalized on final day
  • Mexico was the only government to speak on final day
  • In the eyes of the President, “the Council lived up to the challenges they were facing”

This information service, prepared especially for UNPO Members, aims at providing insight into ongoing developments of one of the UN’s major bodies.
