Tuva: Archeologists Head for Tuvan Fortress

A team of 300 Russian archeologists will be studying the ancient Tuvan fortress of Port-Bazin located on an island on the Tere-Hol lake.

On the 1st of June archeological expedition in Republic of Tuva starts its activities, which include complex studies and research of the ancient fortress Por-Bazin.

The fortress is located on an island at the Tere-Hol lake and looks like a rectangular, fenced by a wall.

Expedition members have already prepared an exploration camp for about 300 participants, coming from various Russian higher educational institutions, including Moscow State University.
