UNPO VIII General Assembly:

“A New UNPO for Challenges of the New Century: Raising the Voice of the Unrepresented”

From 27 until 29 October 2006 the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (UNPO) will hold its VIII General Assembly (GA). The GA will constitute a vital basis in which to determine the issue of organisational reform to strengthen and consolidate UNPO, and its activities in the global arena as well as future direction. The summit will bring together UNPO Member representatives worldwide, to discuss current issues and outline long-term strategies.

The GA meeting will essentially deliberate further on the issue of reform, whilst moreover being structured by general GA proceedings. A high-level panel will be held outlining overarching thematic issues relevant to the GA, including the interrelated questions of identity, democracy, security and self-determination.

The GA will be held at the Liberty Square Convention Centre,
Taipei City
, Taiwan
.
