Tatarstan to Host next CIS Summit

Kazakhstan’s proposal to reform CIS coincided with the opinion of many states, said said President of Kazakhstan at today’s enlarged collegium of the Foreign Ministry.
Our initiative achieved the set tasks - CIS member states decide to optimize this international structure that turned into cumbersome and unapt response adequately to contemporary challenges. The final decisions will be taken during August summit in Kazan.

The essence of the reforms lies in new channels of information exchange necessary to discuss and settle many issues present in the current relations, first of all, fighting international terrorism and extremism, humanitarian cooperation.

Solving of specific tasks of trade-economic interaction and integration now is concentrated in really working integration societies, primarily, in EuroAsEC. It is critical to make efforts to revive activity of the organization of Central Asian cooperation.
