Various aspects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan
were discussed during the meeting of the President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaymiev
and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Russian Federation Ramiz Rizayev. As correspondent
of AzerTAj informs, the head of Tatarstan who received the ambassador in the
Kazan Kremlin, has emphasized, that brotherly Tatar and Azerbaijani peoples
are brought closer by the common language and culture, religions and historical
roots that has not smaller value, than mutual economic interests.
Mintimer Shaymiev has noted the role of the national leader
of Azerbaijan people, President Heydar Aliyev in development of mutual relations.
During the meeting with the Azerbaijan leader in 1996 they, Mintimer Shaymiev
said, have spoken up to 4 o'clock in the morning, and this frank, heartfelt
conversation was remembered to the President of Tatarstan for all life.
Ambassador Ramiz Rizaev, answering questions of journalists
on results of the meeting, has noted that the broad audience of questions in
economic and humanitarian areas was discussed. In his opinion, for cooperation
it is a lot of opportunities, and it should lift economic mutual relations on
a high level. Azerbaijan holds the 27th place among the countries - trading
partners of Tatarstan. «In Tatarstan, there are advanced chemical, oil
and petrochemical branches, he has told. - Both republics now on rise. Azerbaijan
is interested in purchase the next year of 450 "KamAZ", but also,
we have very good offers on other goods which are produced here », the
ambassador of Azerbaijan has noticed.
The Azerbaijan diplomat has held also a meeting with minister
of culture of Tatarstan Ildus Tarkhanov during which discussed were prospects
of cooperation in humanitarian sphere carried out according to the Agreement
on cultural cooperation between the ministries of culture of Azerbaijan and
Tatarstan.
