Dharamsala, 4 February: The list of various parliamentary groups for Tibet has recently gone up by one as a Scottish Parliamentary Group for Tibet has been formally formed on 29 January.

During His Holiness the Dalai Lama's visit to England and Scotland this May, His Holiness will address the Scottish Parliament.

" The Scottish parliament invites heads of states to address its house. It has invited His Holiness in May to address its house ", Ms. Kesang Takla, His Holiness' representative in England, told the Voice of Tibet over phone.

The Scottish Parliamentary Group for Tibet, comprising of members from six political parties, will work towards improving the human rights situation inside Tibet and seeking support of MPs on resolutions for Tibet.

Ms. Takla said she had been to the inauguration of the group last Thursday to brief them about the working of other parliamentary groups for Tibet around the world.

Ms. Takla said she had been assured of support for Tibet and His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

" They told me that they will work towards promoting Tibet awareness in Scotland and amongst MPs of Scottish parliament, raise questions on Tibet in their parliament, and help arrange visits of His Holiness to Scotland ", said Ms. Takla.
