Abkhazia to Hold Talks on Security Guarantees with Georgia

Representatives of Georgia and Abkhazia are due to meet in Tbilisi on Thursday to consider guarantees of security and of the non-resumption of Georgian- Abkhaz hostilities
Representatives of Georgia and the breakaway region of Abkhazia are due to meet in Tbilisi on Thursday to consider guarantees of security and of the non-resumption of Georgian- Abkhaz hostilities, Georgian State Minister Giorgi Khaindrava told reporters on Tuesday.

The meeting was scheduled to be held several days ago, but Abkhazia refused to take part, accusing Georgia of failing to keep its promise to release humanitarian relief that was aboard a Turkish ship seized by Georgian coastguards off Abkhaz shores on July 3. The relief was delivered to Abkhazia on Monday with the intervention of UN officials.
