Tibet: Re-establishment of the European Parliament Tibet Intergroup in the new legislative
The president underlined: "As a result of the enlargement of the European Union of ten member states the number of proposed intergroups increased enormously. 120 MEPs have given their signature in favour of the continuation of our work. The support of three groups was demanded. I thank the group of the European People's Party/European Democrats, the group of the Greens/European Free Alliance as well as the Union for Europe of the Nations group for giving us the points necessary."
"Because of our political initiatives, the conventions with parliamentarians and NGOs from the EU, the United States and Switzerland, and our regular meetings at Strasbourg the voice of the Tibet Intergroup is of importance. We will follow this way with great engagement - to give Tibetan people a future", said Thomas Mann finally.
