Chin: Christians Coerced In Burma

A delegation of Chin Christians, supported by Christian Solidarity Worldwide, is in London to address the persistent violations of religious freedom in Burma.

Below is an article published by The Vatican Today:

A delegation of ethnic Chin Christians are in London this week [10th to 16th September 2012], to highlight violations of religious freedom in Burma also known as Myanmar. While in the British capital the group are presenting a new report, entitled, “Threats to Our Existence: Persecution of Ethnic Chin Christians in Burma”. Christian Solidarity Worldwide is hosting the Chin Human Rights Organisation (CHRO) and Lydia O’Kane spoke to CSW’s East Asia Team Leader Ben Rogers.

He says that although the government of Burma has put in place steps towards positive reform it needs to make sure that human rights such as the right to religion or belief are promoted and protected.
