Tibet: Wall of Hope tour for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche in Germany reaches Midway Point
The 'Wall of Hope' has been growing city by city as members of the public have been signing a message of support for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche and adding it to the 'Wall'. The message of support reads, 'Tenzin Delek Rinpoche: We are fighting for you. Although Tenzin Delek Rinpoche is imprisoned and sentenced to death, he is not forgotten. I support his freedom and the freedom of all Tibetans.'
In these four German cities alone, over 2000 signatures have been collected for postcards that are addressed to the German Foreign Minister, Joschka Fischer. Geshe Lobsang Tenpa, student of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche and accompanying the 'Wall of Hope' Tour, will deliver the postcards personally to the German Foreign Ministry at the end of the tour in Berlin. ICT Germany has intensified the campaign for Tenzin Delek Rinpoche in recent weeks with information stands in Berlin, Jena, Nürnberg, Bonn & Stuttgart at various events all collecting signatures for the postcards.
Local newspapers and TV have reported on the 'Wall of Hope' and Geshe Lobsang Tenpa & Dechen Pemba (ICT Germany Campaigns Coordinator) were also interviewed by Radio Free Asia where they were able to talk directly to callers from Tibet. In Münster the 'Wall of Hope' was visited by Bishop Ostermann who stated, 'My intention is to send a strong signal against arbitrary detention in authoritarian countries.'
Four more cities will be visited on the tour, including Berlin
where the 'Wall of Hope' tour will conclude on 21st November.
