Balochistan: Three More Political Activists Murdered


After the assassination of Minorities Minister Shahbaz Bhatti the list of killed Baloch political activists grows to over a hundred in half a year

Three more bodies of missing persons were found in different parts of Balochistan on Tuesday. The bodies were reportedly found in Uthal, Turbat and Kalat. According to a police official, Turbat Tehsildar spotted the body near the Murgap area, and he instantly informed police. The body was taken to the Civil Hospital, Turbat, where the deceased was identified as Yasir Nasir, member of the Baloch Students Organisation (BSO-Azad) Turbat chapter.

While talking to Daily Times, police said, “Yasir Nasir was whisked away from Gwadar on October 29, 2010, and his case was registered in the Gwadar police station.” Voice for Baloch Missing Persons Chairman, Nasurllah Baloch, said, “As many as 106 bodies of Baloch political opponents and students have so far been recovered during the past six months from different parts of the province. They were all young and mostly students, who were picked and killed.” 

Another body was found from the Jiwan area of Kalat. Accoding to police, local people spotted the body, after which it was taken to the District Headquarter Hospital, Kalat, for autopsy, where he was identified as Nuroze Khan, son of AllahBakhsh Mengal. The third body was found in the Liari CheckPost in the Coastal Highway area, sub-tehsil of Uthal. Tehsildar of Liari, Alhai Baksh, rushed to the spot and took the body to a nearby hospital for autopsy where the deceased was identified as Deen Muhammad Marri, son of Sher Muhammad Marri, a resident of Hub industrial town.
