Somaliland: Delegation Meets With US Officials in Washington

Somaliland delegation which included the Deputy-Speaker of the Somaliland parliament, the Deputy-Chair of the Somaliland House of Elders, the ministers of Foreign Affairs, Planning, Home Affairs and Natural resources discussed with the USAID officals areas of mutual interest including current USAID assistance to Somaliland and the possibility of further projects in Somaliland to be funded by USAID.   

According to Dr. Sa'ad Sh. Osman Nur, Somaliland representative in the United States of America, the Somaliland delegation also met with members of the National Security Council at the White House in Washington DC. Dr. Osman Nur stated that the discussions between the delegation and the Security Council staff focused on the security and stability in the Horn of Africa and the efforts to combat terrorism and piracy in the region.
 
The Somaliland delegation have also met with senior officials from the State Department in Washington.
