Abkhazia:Bagapsh Meets Ankvab

Today the President of the Republic of Abkhazia S. V. Bagapsh has held a meeting with the Vice President Alexander Ankvab, the Speaker of the Parliament Nugzar Ashuba, the Prime Minister Sergey Shamba, members of the delegation who accompanied the Head of the state on his official visit to the Russian Federation and other members of the Government.


The President told the meeting participants about the results of official summit talks held during his visit to the Russian capital. Sergey Bagapsh pointed to the efficiency of these negotiations and their importance in the development of Russian-Abkhaz state mutual relations.  

The head of the state thanked all members of the delegation and staff of the Embassy of Abkhazia in Moscow for the work done when preparing the visit in close interaction with the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, the Government’s Office and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The situation in the republic was also discussed at the meeting. The President charged the Prime Minister to submit to his consideration in the shortest possible time proposals on structural changes and personal structure of the government and management of the Cabinet’s lower organizations. At that Sergey Bagapsh stressed the necessity of recruiting young, prepared specialist to work for bodies of state power.

They also discussed proposals on preventing consequences of possible spring floods and necessity in this connection to do shore protection in the Gulripsh, Ochamchira, Tkuarchal districts, as well as along the Inkit lake in Pitsunda.
